Do your kids like dog stories? We've got just the thing for you. I have batch of colorful storybooks for young children that are all about dogs. They're precious. They're adorable. They'll make your kids fall in love with dogs all over again.
The books in the photo are just a sampling. Your selection will vary as I plan to do this a number of times. This week's winner will receive 5 picture book stories about dogs for a child, grandchild, or special friend. All you have to do is enter. Here's how to enter: - You may enter the giveaway once daily per method, but you must use a different Tweet, comment, photo, etc. each time.
- Winners will be selected from comments here on the blog that include a method of contact (URL, email, Twitter handle, etc). All Tweets and emails must be followed up with a comment here to be entered in the drawing. Random.org will be used to select the winners.

| Fido's Freebie Friday Invites Your Pet Giveaway Listings Posted: 23 Jun 2011 12:00 PM PDT by Carrie Boyko, CEB  Good afternoon and welcome to Fido's Freebie Friday. I know it may seem a bit silly that this event starts on Thursday afternoon, but there really is a reason for this--honest. Knowing that many of my fellow bloggers work 9 to 5ers, I wanted to allow them time to get linked up to the hop on Thursday evenings so that their posts will be visible all day on Friday. Thanks for your understanding and let's get down to business.
Last week's hop got us rolling with a tidy batch of giveaways that ranged from free cleaning solutions to expensive cat doors and dog beds. What fun it was to see the variety!
Now that I have a partner in this event, Doreen of Doggies and Stuff, and I will be busy collecting our fellow bloggers contact info so that we may help this giveaway event grow into the "Giveaway Central" that we hope it will soon be.

Bow Wow Banana Cake
Fresh From the Oven | Boy howdy! Did the kitchen ever smell good while this was baking. Tanner and Oliver mingled around the table just knowing that something yummy would soon be out. I'm sure they thought it would be one of those same 'ole, same 'ole things--we eat most of it and maybe they get a crumb or two from pops. Little did they know that this cake was made special for them.
The SafeMade Pet Flexibowl that it was baked in is made of silicone, a material that is becoming more frequently used for kitchen items such as hotpads and even some types of bakeware. This bowl is particularly cute with it's paw print shape, perfect for a dog cake.

Can We Cut it Now? | Would you like to try making one of these healthy and delicious cakes for your pup--maybe for a birthday celebration? Here's the recipe I used; it was a big hit here.
Carrie's Bow Wow Banana Cake
Ingredients: - 3 ripe organic bananas, mashed well
- 1 organic egg
- 2 Tablespoons organic Applesauce
- 2 Tablespoons organic Canola Oil
- 1-1/2 cups organic Whole Wheat Flour
- 1 teaspoon aluminum-free baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

It's Almost All Gone, Oliver | Instructions: - Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare pan with organic cooking spray and set aside.
- Combine dry ingredients.
- Stir egg, oil and applesauce into mashed bananas.
- Combine all and stir until evenly mixed.
- Spoon mixture into a 1-1/2 quart pan.
- Bake 35-45 minutes. Ovens vary and so will pans. Check with a toothpick to determine when done.
- After cooling on a rack for a few minutes, remove from pan to continue cooling with full air circulation.
- Cool before slicing.
