Elvis is a Great Pyrenees mix that is a wonderful companion. He gets along well with other pets. Because he is a big boy, he will need an owner that has some space and the ability to give him plenty of exercise. Elvis is located in Laton, California. For more information, click his link and give him a chance.

If 'small' is more you're idea of a great companion, perhaps you'd like to consider Sugar. Sugar is about 3 years old and is a nice little girl to have around. Her foster mom says she would make most anyone a great pet.  Sugar is available in Lemoore, California.

Now let's meet Marilyn, an adoptable, young Tabby mix that would prefer to live in a home without dogs. She's playful and loving once she gets used to her caretakers. Marilyn is available for adoption in Visalia, California.

Are you looking for a bunny, rather than a dog or cat? It is that time of year. If you're sure you'd enjoy a hoppy, wiggly-nosed rabbit, I hope you'll consider Elizabeth and Samantha. You may have guessed that they're sisters, although they do have distinguishing marks on their ears that will allow you to tell them apart, if you decide to adopt both. Aren't they adorable? Elizabeth and Samantha are in Arroyo-Grande, California.

At this time of year, many families consider adopting a rabbit as a pet. Rabbits do make nice pets (we have a rabbit named Robby) and they can often get along well with other animals. However, I urge you to do your homework before adopting a rabbit. Know what you're getting into and be prepared. Other pets may find them to be great prey, so consider their safety and health before adopting frivolously.

Another aside--bunnies that enjoy free hopping time, can also enjoy chewing on electrical cords and other soft plastics. You don't want to electrocute your new companion, so be sure to cover all cords with rugs or furniture. Bunny-proof any areas that your rabbit will have access to while playing outside his crate. This will help to make sure your new friend is a better and safer one for you both. Best wishes to a happy adoption choice.

And as always, don't forget to visit 5 Minutes for Fido, where Tanner and Oliver spout off their opinions and generally offer up silliness.
