Posted: 08 Apr 2011 12:00 PM PDT by Carrie Boyko, CEB Every since I announced the Adoptathon, I'm getting egged on to get started. Look at that face; it says "Get going, already!" Remember, rabbits don't sit on their fannies; they're fast! "Okay, Robby. We'll start with a rabbit preview in New York City today." What a great place for a rabbit to find a home--a high rise is no problem for a house-trained bunny. And look who we found:

Twinkle |
Twinkle is a large, adult female, short-coated mix. She has been spayed, so there will be no worries about more little Twinkles if you have other bunnies in your home. I selected her because of her woodland rabbit coloring; she looks just like the bunnies I occasionally see in our garden. Her information does not indicate any problems with children. If you have young kids, be sure to talk to the agency about her personality characteristics. Her foster family may be able to share some input on this.
Hudson is a New Zealand breed, medium male. He is young, but has been spayed. Hudson has a short, white coat and his ears are an adorable pink, just like you would think of for an "Easter rabbit".

Ebony |
Ebony and Ivory are rabbit friends that love to snuggle together and enjoy a good salad. Wouldn't it be fun to adopt a pair of bunnies, so they always have a friend to play with? Ebony is the dark colored bunny, and is a female. Ivory is a male and is primarily white with beautiful markings on his face. Both Ebony and Ivory are spayed/neutered, and as with all of these adoptable rabbits, they are up to date on their routine shots. Won't you give them a look?

Ivory |
For more information on these, or any other bunnies you find on the Petfinder website, just click the link to their name and you can scroll down to find out more. Contact information for each rabbit is available at these links.
Be sure to join us on Saturday, April 16, when we will be highlighting adoptable rabbits all over the country, throughout the day. Thanks for considering adoption as your best option.

As I continue to venture down this road of weekly giveaways, I want to make an effort to improve your experience. We are all about customer service, and that's why we offer a staff of trainers to answer your question, a vet to offer assistance, and problem solving posts to help you keep Fido out of mischief.
And as always, don't forget to visit 5 Minutes for Fido, where Tanner and Oliver spout off their opinions and generally offer up silliness.Today I'm going to implement a new strategy to assist in prize drawings that are appropriate for the winners. I want you and your Fido to get a prize that you'll be excited about, and he will enjoy immensely. So starting today, I'll be asking you for your dog's breed or weight when you win a drawing if I can't figure it out by your post or a link. Feel free to share it in your comment to expedite your winnings! As always, you can enter with a comment here, on my Facebook site, or through Twitter. Even email comments are acceptable if you can't comment at the other sites: LetsAdoptaDogPark@gmail.com.
Also starting today, I'm going to be offering a weekly preview of some of the posts you can look forward to through the weekend and into next week. So, what's coming up?
- The official announcement of our Easter Rabbit Adoptathon Blog Hop will offer tips on decision-making, making life with a rabbit more workable, and how to find a rabbit to adopt. I hope you didn't miss yesterday's guest post by our family's rabbit, Robby. He had great comments that will help immensely if you're considering this big step.
- Adoptable Pets: A Tour of States hits a new state each week. Any idea which state we'll be visiting this week?
- Dr. Pat will address the natural ways to clean the skin folds on dog breeds such as Sharpei and Bulldogs.
- We'll be sharing a guest post from a representative of the Veterans Administration who will tell us more about the bill before Congress that we hope will soon allow service dogs on VA property. Come learn more about the challenges of our retired servicemen and women who use service dogs to help them live independent lives.
- One of our trainer staff, Terry Lynn Cuyler, will share a few tips on helping your children learn how to properly and safely greet a new dog.
- Finally, next week will wrap up with Blog the Change Day, when I will talk about drown-proofing your pups. Learn the whole story of my Pitbull water rescue and what you can do to prevent the unthinkable from happening to your dog.
I suppose it's time to announce the winners of our four 12-packs of Cesar Cuisine: Shauna, Patty Milliron, Mary, and Lori. Ladies, your pups will each receive a 12-pack of gourmet dinners along with a doggie bandana and a couple of other surprises. We hope you'll enjoy your goodies. Don't forget to send your address to LetsAdoptaDogPark@gmail.com.
Finally, be sure to click over to our Facebook page to "Like" us and follow us on Twitter. This will help us keep you better informed about our great upcoming events.

I've made no secret of the fact that I enjoy watching and learning from Cesar Millan. However, that's not to say that I believe his show is a cure-all. Most certainly viewers should heed the disclaimer that they should not try many of his TV techniques without the assistance of a professional.
That being said, I can totally get behind his push to offer plenty of daily exercise, both physical and mental, to help your pup be the calm and enjoyable companion you desire. Much of his Cesar's Way deck is focused on activities you can do along this line, as well as other tips for training and understanding your dog. This package is more or less an abridged version of his book, perfect for those who can't get through the book.
This week's prize giveaway is a hodgepodge of goodies for you and Fido which also includes a sample of Rachel Ray's Nutrish dog food and a stuffed pup for your desk (NOTE: This is not a dog toy). If you share your dog's weight and breed or color, you'll also receive a bandana for each of your dogs, and maybe another surprise. I like to keep you wondering.
Winners will be drawn Thursday evening and announced Friday on the blog on April 15. Here's some help with entering, finding out if you won, and more....
All Things Dog Blog's Dog Lover Drawings 101:
Enter a drawing by commenting here (at the bottom of each post is a comment link), on my Facebook page (be sure the hit the "Like" button to stay up to date on my posts), or via Twitter (don't forget to follow me there also).
Each prize is listed at the Current Drawings Page that you'll find in our sidebar where you see this pup: Just click his image in the sidebar, and you'll find the Current Drawings Page.
You can read the whole post to learn the rules of entry (sometimes they are different) if you click the link beneath the dog, where the description is. Sometimes we have multiple drawings going on, so watch for the giveaway you're trying to check.
Better yet, take a minute to visit the top of our sidebar to get your FREE subscription. Be sure to go to your email to activate it, and then you'll be absolutely positive that you won't miss a single announcement with your name in it.
If you return to check on your possible payload, you can easily find the winners' names listed at the List of Winners, also just beneath the doggie image shown above. I try to update this every Friday by mid-afternoon, so if you check in over the weekend you'll be able to easily learn your fate. When I don't have contact information on you, this may be your only way of learning if you won; it's your lifeline, so check it if you don't offer me a way to contact you.
Most prizes are available only to North American (continental U.S. and Canada) addresses. Some are occasionally open to International shipping, so watch for them, and be sure to enter. We want you to win!
Just can't stand it? If you have to have it right now, you can order it right here. It's a quick in and out, and a sure thing. Happy tails!
