Greener Dog Collars: Sustainable Bamboo Review & Giveaway

Fresh Bath. New Collar. Ahhh!
Those of you who know me probably know I'm always looking for greener ways to live, both for my dogs and for our family. From composting food waste to flushable poop bags, we're all about what's best for the Earth and our health. When Tanner had the opportunity to test out a Bamboo dog collar from our Eco-friendly friends at PurePup Shop, we were all over it. This was just the thing after a long summer of sweaty walks and swims in the lake had left their signature scent on Tanner's collar.

Our Stand-In Model
With it's anti-bacterial properties, Bamboo resists odor naturally. We all know the smell that dog collars take on; it's not easy to eliminate by washing. Yet Bamboo will surprise you with its ability to release smells.

Our bamboo sheets are the softest and most durable set I've ever owned. And Bamboo is a much easier fabric to grow organically, making it the perfect prospect for clothing, sheets, towels, and even dog collars. Tanner's new collar is 70% organic Bamboo and 30% organic cotton--100% biodegradable.

Bamboo is a highly sustainable fabric, largely because of its unbelievably fast growth and very little need for fertilization or pest control. And like other natural fabrics, it breathes better than its synthetic copycats. You'll love how quickly it dries and how nicely it washes.

Sneaky Dog Pack Snacks Hide Out in Flush Puppies Giveaway

Don't Flush the Dog Pack Snacks!
We've decided to give up teaching Tanner to flush his own doodie bags. Even though his Flush Puppies bags are flushable and dissolve in the sewer system water, all the other goodies that may end up in the toilet are not necessarily flushable. Therein lies the problem.

Wait Permission to EAT their Dog Pack Snacks

Today Tanner appeared to be practicing his DROP IT skills with a sample pouch of treats. "Wait! That doesn't go there Tanner!" Maybe he was trying to tell me something.  When I pulled out the Dog Pack Snacks he perked right up and was ready for a performance of most any kind that would bring him the desired reward. That's my boy!

Speaking of rewards, this week you guys get one. Just for being loyal readers, you get to enter a giveaway from two of my sponsors: Dog Pack Snacks and Flush Puppies. Six winners will get a small pouch of Dog Pack Snacks (from a variety of flavor choices) and 3 wallet packs of Flush Puppies. Now you'll have rewards for your dogs after they take care of their business outside. Good doggie!

I know that some of you would rather just purchase your own products and be done with it. In this case, let's cut to the chase. You can pick up your choice of flavors from Dog Pack Snacks, and select your Flush Puppies in rolls or wallet-packs at their site at the link above. Flush Puppies are also available at most Pet Supermarkets and  here through Amazon.

Dog Lifestyle Reading

Don't worry. I'm not peddling subscriptions. What I am doing is handing off swag and freebies that I have gotten in multiples. After all, why send them to the recycle bin when you guys can enjoy reading them.

I've got copies of FIDO Friendly, Life + Dog, and Moderndog--a total of 8 magazines. These 8 magazines will go to 8 of you, drawn from comments alone. This giveaway is quite different from my usual fare, so please read carefully:

One entry per person. No Rafflecopter; just leave me a comment telling me if you would enjoy seeing magazine subscriptions as prizes/giveaways here on All Things Dog Blog. That's it; one comment and you're done.

I'll announce the winners of the 8 FREE magazines on Friday, November 4. Happy tails!
