Parents, grandparents and teachers have all taken to following my dog book giveaways for kids, and I couldn't be more happy about that. As a parent of 3 all-grown-up readers I'm proud to look back and know that I played a part in forming this great lifetime habit by regularly reading aloud to my kids. There's nothing better than a good dog book to get your child's imagination working. It does my heart good to see your interest.

Today's books are boxed sets of a series called the Buddy Files. These mysteries were profiled at the announcement post. Based on the number of entries, I'd say they were a big hit. The publisher and the author have been watching and are happy to see your enthusiasm as well. Thank you all for working hard to raise readers.

Before we give out the winners' names, I'd like to once again share the links to the teachers' guides and the free coloring pages. I hope these will be helpful and enjoyable resources for you all. If you're not among the winners, you can follow the links here to purchase your own copies online through Amazon:

Let's get on with announcing the winners. Each of you will receive a boxed set with all 5 of the existing titles. Watch for book #6 to be released next March. You can pre-order your copy at the link above. Today's lucky dog mystery lovers are Samantha, katKiley, and Kelly Ann T.

You'll receive an email from my AllThingsDogBlog@gmail.com account. I look forward to your reply with address and phone number for shipping. Please place this email address in your contacts so that my notice will not end up in your spam. Congratulations again!

Full disclosure: The publisher of The Buddy Files provided this profile of their books along with this promotional giveaway for you. There was no sample involved and no purchase necessary to win.

Let the Dog Whispering Begin...

Dog Whisperer fans lined up to take their chance at winning a DVD set from Season 4, Volume 1. It was fun to watch the entries unfold, even as I was a pet bloggers' conference listening to Victoria Stillwell speak--LOL. They are so different and yet their message is the same: help the dog understand what we want from him. I guess I'd have to say I'm a fan of both for very different reasons. If you look deep enough into any philosophy of teaching you will find a lesson worthwhile.

That lesson this week goes to Shilohsmom. We hope she will enjoy many hours of watching this famous and very dynamic speaker relay his methods, case by case. If you would like to purchase your own Dog Whisperer DVD, you can visit Amazon and find this exact set at this Dog Whisperer page.

Full disclosure: This DVD package was acquired by me and is being offered as a promotional event. No purchase is necessary to enter. The above does not constitute a product review, but merely a sharing of some observations about various training and dog handling methods. Please read more about my contest and giveaway rules here.

Who knew how popular the PediPaws home nail care product would be? Quite honestly I've found it to be a useful tool, while others have told me they gave up on getting their pets to allow its use. I suppose it all boils down to methodology.

My post on how to use the PediPaws is at this link. I hope those of you who did not win will consider a Pedipaws. It's an inexpensive solution to nail care and great for smoothing those big dogs' nails out after a clipping that leaves them sharp and scratchy.

This giveaway comes complete with a box of 12 replacement heads, so our winner is sure to be set for quite sometime. That winner is Amy Orvin. Thanks for entering our giveaway Amy. We're happy you'll be able to care for your pets' nails at home, especially when I read that you have 5 cats and 2 dogs! That's a houseful for sure.

How to train 7 pets to accept the Pedipaws gracefully? Start with your "Leader" in the group--the one the other pets follow. Good luck. I'll be in touch to request your shipping information. Happy tails!

Full disclosure: The products being given away today were not provided by the manufacturer. I have not been compensated to offer this informational post or to provide this giveaway. The information offered here is from my own experience. Visit the following link to read my full giveaway rules if you wish more detail.
