Oliver is Expecting
a Major Treat Payoff for This!

Retired!
Doggie Dreadlocks are apparently not Oliver's idea of fun. After snapping a few photos, we had to remove the hat, which admittedly was a size or two large for him.

At 10 lbs. he could have pulled off an extra small, but actually is a true Small. This costume was a medium--more for a Beagle or a Cocker. We made the body work with a little creative overlapping, but the hat was another story.

I'm thinking maybe a dew rag for to go with this Halloween costume. What do you think?

Are you ready for Mutt Monday? It's Halloween so I think we should all post our pup's costume photos. You can link up any pet post you like, though. Join us for an anything goes pet hop:

Aruba
This beautiful and sweet dog was lucky enough to be picked up by a concerned someone who found her searching for food at the dump. Aruba was friendly and pleasant as they drove to the rescue, where they eagerly anticipated a call from her owners. Now it is time to find Aruba a permanent home where she will get the love and attention she needs and deserves. You can see Aruba in Delhi, New York.

Charlie
Now let's meet Charlie, a handsome tri-color Beagle, also available in Delhi, New York. Charlie's story is not yet posted on the rescue site, but I noticed that he is wearing a tag on his collar, so this could mean he has come from a previous home. Give him a look. He has a nice smile.

Sammy
SAMMY is a long-haired lady who entered the shelter on March 9, 2011 at the age of about 4 years old. She's a sweet coy little lady who appreciates attention. You can meet Sammy in New Delhi, New York. Be sure to check out he info at the link to her name.

Jacob and Sherman
Jacob and Sherman are a pair of siblings that are very bonded to one another. It would be best if they were adopted together as they spend all of their time together. Although they are doing well at the sanctuary, they are ready for a permanent home. It is not uncommon for rabbits to bond to one another. They generally are happier and better pets when a bonded pair is not split up.

Turn Off the Sunshine
Before it Melts My Pupsicle
Pumpkin is becoming the new favorite in healthy dog snacks. Have you noticed how many treat companies are adding a pumpkin treat to their line? It's no wonder. This vegetable is fiber-rich, full of anti-oxidants and beta-carotene, and low calorie. It's a perfect snack for a fit fido.

Here in Florida the weather is still plentiful warm so we're taking advantage of the availability of organic pumpkin to create some frozen treats for Tanner and Oliver. If it's too chilly where you live, tuck this recipe into your Summer plans and serve it whenever your pup can enjoy a cooling snack.

Tanner Gobbles Them Fast

Pumpkin Pupsicles

Mix about 1 cup lowfat plain yogurt with 1 cup mashed pumpkin. I use organic to know I'm giving Tanner and Oliver the best--no fertilizers, pesticides or synthetic preservatives. You can add a tablespoon of honey if you wish, but honestly that's more for our tastes than for theirs.

Oliver Savors the Flavor
Spoon the mixture into an ice cube tray and freeze until solid. Pop the Pupsicles out and store for serving one at a time, depending on your Fido's size.

Do you have a pupsicle recipe to share? I'd love to hear from you at AllThingsDogBlog@gmail.com. Happy tails!

Meet Marley
Well-nourished dogs who are fed a healthy, organic food just have that look about them. Their coats shine and their energy seems to always be vibrant. Two winners will be receiving a coupon for a 25 lb. bag of Organix, the official food of the All Things Dog Blog dogs.

Tanner and Oliver have never yet balked at chow when I serve their favorite. They seem to know that their Organix dinner is the best I can give them. Whatever it is that makes them love it--the taste, the absence of synthetics and toxins--they always chow down as if they don't know when their next meal is coming. No complaints from me.
