Maine! Just the thought of it inspires my sweatshirts and sweaters. With Summer heat bearing down hard, who can resist the thought of Maine. Today I'm going to bring you some adoptable pets from our most Northeastern state. Enjoy the scenery:

Princess
Princess's story really tugged at my heart. A true lover, she was brought to the rescue with her lifetime companion, a Sheltie, who has now been adopted. Princess is about 9 years old and would be a wonderful companion for most anyone. She is delightful mix of German Shepherd and Husky, available for adoption in Clinton, Maine.

Linus
I'm excited to present Linus to you because he just sounds like a bundle of fun all ready to join a family with kids and activities. he's a Jack Russell/Beagle mix that is energetic and smart. He'll need lots of mental and physical jobs to work off that energy, so he'd be a perfect exercise partner for someone looking to team up on their walks. Linus is ready to go in Augusta, Maine.

Bella
Now that we've shared a large dog and a small one, I like to move on to kitties. Patches, my cat, insists! Bella's history is another one that had me welling up. She started out as a barn cat, but has always taken to people. Even after 2 years at the rescue, she still loves to be loved by humans, even though she has yet to be adopted. Bella has FIV and will need to have her health watched, but she is young and sweet, so she really deserves a chance to have a normal home. FIV is a disease that is slow to progress, so Bella will likely live a long life. She is not contagious to you or other pets. Won't you give her a chance? Here's the message left on her webpage by the rescue: FIV-positive cats should be kept as healthy as possible. Keep them indoors and free from stress, feed them a high-quality diet, keep and treat any secondary problems as soon as they arise. Garland and Grier
Shall we check out the rabbits in Maine now? I found these two siblings that have become quite bonded. This is common with bunnies and it is often requested that they be adopted together for their mental health. Besides, speaking from experience, two rabbits is no more trouble than one, and don't you want them to be happy? Of course you do! Please check out Garland and Grier's story. They're still baby bunnies and are very affectionate and like being held. Get 'em while they're still there--available in Westbrook, Maine.
