Duke
Today we're in our Nation's capital on a search for some adoptable pets. It was not a tough search. I quickly fell in love with Duke, a goofy and affectionate Labrador Retriever who is 3 years old. Duke would love to join an active family where he could get plenty of exercise and play in his days entertaining you with silliness.

Jesse

Meet Jesse, a  beautiful Wire Fox Terrier that is huggable and sweet. After her purchase from a breeder, Jesse apparently received some basic training and is well-behaved, social and friendly. She plays with toys and enjoys being held and curling up on your lap. At 15 lbs. she is healthy and attractive. Jesse does need an owner who can provide a play area and exercise, since she is young and active. She also needs some attention to perfecting her house training. Jesse's foster family feels she may do better in a home where she is the only dog and there are no children, as she seems to need to be the center of attention. The rescue has requested she be placed in the northeast. Check out the link for more detail on Jesse.

Bridget
Bridget is a 4 month old, housetrained cat who purrs a lot and is quite playful. Although shy at first, she quickly comes around to new playmates and enjoys other cats. Bridget has a brother with whom she enjoys playtime, so if you're thinking of adding a twosome this might be a nice family. Bridget is being cared for in Bethesda, DC.

Peter
Peter is a 2 year old Dutch bunny that is adoptable in Silver Spring. He is litter box trained and easy to handle. And what a perfect name for an adorable rabbit! Perhaps he is looking for a quiet home like yours?

Washington D.C. has many adoptable pets waiting for homes. If you would like to explore your options, I encourage you to visit Petfinder, where you can search by breed, type of pet, sex, color, size and many other choices. You'll be sure to find the furry friend of your dreams at Petfinder. Thank you for choosing adoption.

Naptime for the Whole Family
on their Birthday

Yes, this mom has 9 babies. When I ponder that possibility, it seems incomprehensible. I had my hands full with three kids; can you imagine dealing with 9?

A friend's friend sent these pictures along and I knew you guys would enjoy them. The essence of motherhood is the total giving of oneself to the good of the children. I think this mom has definitely done her part. Nursing her pups while standing could not have been fun, but she seems to be tolerating her hungry families' needs quite well in that top photo. Bravo for mom!

Feel free to leave your comments below celebrating motherhood or thanking your own mom. We all love a good sentimental thought!

In honor of Mother's Day, we're visiting a mom's blog hop. Enjoy a little bouncing and be sure to thank our hostess.
