Adoptable Pets: A Tour of States Takes us to Alaska (and even Washington)

I'm guessing that most of the dogs in Alaska have thick coats and are particularly well-prepared in that sense for the climate. Because of that, I'm going to be highlighting some that might have come a bit less cozy in the built-in wardrobe department. Hopefully they'll find nice warm homes.

Well, much to my surprise, there is not one...not a single dog on the Petfinder system in Alaska. I'm sure that's just today, but still, it was a surprise. I'm guessing all the Malamutes and Malanois and Huskies have no problem finding homes. Wow!

Shall I shoot for the closest state? Ok. Let's hit Washington state and see what we find.

Buck

Diego is in Long Beach, Washington. I had to read that twice to be sure--sounded like a California city to me. Diego is a Black and Tan Coonhound.

Buck is a Rottweiler/Coon Hound mix. From what I could see, Coon Hounds are popular in the NW. Good to know if you're ever looking for a Coon Hound.

I did find kitties available in Alaska. Meet Harry. He looks like a rugged guy. You can check him out at the link.

On to our bunny choice for this Sunday--Wendy. It looks like Wendy is watching her figure. Isn't that a diet Pepsi can next to her? Hopefully she's got a carrot stash off to the other side; it's healthier. Robby has offered to share his cabbage and broccoli, but she's a bit too far for sharing. :( Too bad; Robby would have enjoyed a good snuggle with a girl bunny. You know how those rabbits are!

Our family has all of these animals and we couldn't be a happier pack. I'll admit that Oliver is a bit more playful than Robby and Patches care for, but we make sure to keep him under control. That's what pack leaders do.
