It's Petfinder's "Adopt the Internet Day" Posted: 14 Mar 2011 02:00 PM PDT by Carrie Boyko, CEB
Today is Petfinder's 15th anniversary, and we're celebrating by helping them highlight some adoptable pets. I've chosen a few in my own area of Central Florida. If you're somewhere else, feel free to visit their site, use their search feature, and find a pet who needs a home. What a great way to earn your angel wings!
Now, I'll search Papillons in honor of my other pup, Oliver. Annie reminded us a little of our friend Spike. She's available out of the Jacksonville area. Patches would absolutely crucify me with her aloof cattitude if I didn't show off one of her cousins, so here we go: This is Bouncer! What a great name. How could you not want to adopt this fella. And he's right here in the Orlando area. Oh dear. Hope my hubby isn't reading this. He'll be worried. Now, there's one last category I must pursue. Our family's rabbit, Robby, probably wants to know which of his many cousins are looking for homes out there. Let's see what we can find. ![]() We couldn't help but fall in love with this lop-eared boy named Van Gogh. He's probably an artist, but didn't Van Gogh cut off one ear? Hmmmm! Ya gotta love the name choices that these pets get. I always get a good laugh when I visit this site. It's great entertainment. I hope these adorable pictures got you to thinking about taking in another pet. There are so many out there that need you. Give them a second look, or visit Petfinder.com to do your own shopping. Happy tails (and nose wiggles too)! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Help protect our precious dog parks © Carrie Boyko, all rights reserved![]() Follow All Things Dog at Twitter Find me at Facebook ![]() © copyright Carrie Boyko, all rights reserved ![]() Bookmark this on Delicious | ||||
RESCUING ROVER: Meet Lucy, Scruffy and Bud Posted: 13 Mar 2011 09:08 PM PDT as told by Patty Milliron Lucy, at far left, is a foster we kept. She was picked up by the pound in heat, and was heart worm positive. She was a mess. She is a loving, devoted girl. She's around 4 now. Scruffy, in the middle is 6. He is a very smart boy and Ioves to snuggle with his mommy and fish on the kayak with his daddy. Bud is 8. He was another rescue. He was dumped in our Petsmart parking lot one cold, rainy November night. He was raw and bloody from the chest up. He had apparently been kept on a choker chain in the back yard. Bud is a perfect example of a cute puppy bought at a puppy store (his owners were kind enough to drop off his papers with him) without much forethought. The little puppy got big, wasn't trained, and his owners had a baby. Bud is a sweet, gentle, passive dog . . . until he gets nervous. Through the 7 years we've had him, he has chewed himself out of two metal crates, fortunately with no injuries to him. Now for our house, that's been another story. Ha!
