Choosing the right name for your dog is a very important decision for new dog owners. The first thing that most people ask when meeting your dog is “What’s your dog’s name?” How people respond to your dog (and in turn, how your dog responds to people) will forever be linked with the name that you choose. So, as with naming children, great care should be taken when conferring a name upon your pooch. At PupLife.com, we recommend choosing a dog name that presents your dog in the most positive light. We like classic dog names that evoke feelings of nostalgia and the charm of the past. Mabel, Lucy, Jake and Maxwell – dog names like these lend a human air and yet they avoid being classified as trendy or as a passing fancy. Names with negative connotations (“Killer, Fang, etc”) should be avoided, as they can put your dog at an immediate disadvantage. Consciously or unconsciously people often respond to negative names negatively and you might needlessly damage your dog’s reputation. So when choosing the right name for your dog, think positive! Tucker The Fruit Of The Loom Grape
"Attached is a picture of Tucker an 8 year old Border Collie therapy dog. Tucker is dressed as the Fruit of the Loom Grape. When Tucker was 6 months old I heard a click when he walked. My husband and I took him to the vet where his hips were x-rayed only to discover he had hip dysplasia in both his hips. My dream of Tucker being a frisbee/agility dog was gone. As Border Collies have to have a job, we went to therapy dog classes and he became certified and belongs to three organizations. I stayed up late every night when he was little teaching him many tricks. We visit nursing homes and they throw the frisbee and tennis ball to Tucker and Tucker performs tricks for them. At the end of our session everyone is give a small piece of apple in their hand and they feed it to Tucker. I don't know how I came about this costume for Tucker, it was just an idea I had, to try to have something different that no one would probably ever think of. For the first time this year I now see that someone has come up with the same idea and you can now buy one similar to this already made up. I knew it would happen sooner or later. LOL."
