The All Things Dog Blog staff of one headed out to Denver last week for the first annual Blogpaws West 2010 conference, with a goal of meeting other bloggers, learning more about what I do, and solidifying my vision for All Things Dog Blog.

What an experience it was. I attended lectures and hands on learning sessions, listened to emotional speeches, snuggled up to a few new furry friends, collected tons of goodies to give away here, and met my idol, Paris Permenter.

Now I am home, overwhelmed with inspiration and stuff to share with you--my readers. The biggest thing I want to share is that you, too, can "Be the Change"--the motto for this year's conference.

Our goal of raising funds for rescues was enormously successful and each of us was challenged to return to our respective homes and blogs, vowing to do what we see as the change that is needed.

My passion for socializing dogs has always revolved around dog parks and doggie daycares, where dogs can learn the language of a good Bow Wow Boy. It is that passion that got me started with my fledgling site, Adopt a Dog Park. I believe it is time to really begin to form a vision for this goal--

A dog park for every community
and a
community for every dog park

I'll be working on a better website and writing more about the importance of socialization at an early age, as well as ways to accomplish this goal.

You can help assure that your dog park stays open during these tough economic times by assisting with the cleanup, to do your part to contribute when your town cannot find funds for maintenance. It's up to us all to keep our dog parks open by helping in any way we can.

If you'd like to officially adopt your dog park in your dog's name, write to me at LetsAdoptaDogPark@gmail.com. I'll be happy to show off your furry friend on the site, and proud to have you stand by me in this effort. Together, we can all be the change.

Thanks to exhibitors at the Blogpaws conference, I have 3 adorable puppy calendars to give away. Can you resist these precious faces? Of course not!

How can you win yours? Comment on this blog post. Yes! It's that simple.

Need help? Here's the instructions:
  • Scroll to the bottom of the post.
  • Just before the title to the next post you'll find a link to "X Comments". There's a cute little envelope icon just to the right of this link.
  • Click this link and a dialog box will appear.
  • To get your name in the drawing, just tell me why you need a puppy calendar to motivate you to get organized. I can think of 10 reasons! For all you kitten and puppy lovers, take note that the pocket calendar in the lower left of the photo has kittens and puppies in it.
  • Now click the drop down menu just beneath the dialogue box; it says "Comment As".
  • You can leave your name, subscribe by email (which will remain safely with me...not on the blog), post as anonymous, or leave your name and website URL--your choice. However, if you want to get a calendar, you'll need to make sure I can reach you. Drop me an email if you comment without contact info (i.e. anonymous or 1st name only), so I can notify you if you win. It's LetsAdoptaDogPark@gmail.com.
        • I'm putting Oliver in charge of this prize, so he'll be announcing the winner next week on 'Furry Friday. He'll notify you of the winners after the drawing. Be sure to watch your email or check the blogs Friday evening. Remember, Oliver's preferred place to blog is 5 Minutes for Fido, so he's likely to do a switchup and make the announcement there. Good luck!
Thanks to exhibitors Canine Companions and Dog Breed Store for the calendar donations. Be sure to visit our sponsors, where you will find great info for dog lovers.
