News from All Things Dog Blog

All Things Dog Blog

To the readers and supporters of All Things Dog Blog:

In a recent post on my site, I hinted that I would soon be introducing a new veterinarian. That day has come, along with additional big news, that when combined, bear extra importance for your use of All Things Dog Blog. Those of you who read my blog regularly already know that, as a cancer survivor, I live a greener lifestyle and strive to eat organic as often as possible. Our new ASK THE VET columnist, Dr. Pat Bradley, comes to us with some 25 years of veterinary experience, including holistic and homeopathic practices, which followed 10 years of conventional veterinary medicine. Suffice it to say, she is one well-educated pet health expert, and there is more.
Dr. Pat also holds an advanced degree as a mental health counselor, training which she has found useful in assisting her clients with decisions about their pet's health, that often are emotional and difficult. Following years of this involvement, she has written a book, More Than a Pet, that you can download from her site. In this book, you will find helpful information on making the end-of-life decisions that plaque all of us with older pets. There really are more options than I knew. If you are an owner that wishes to share a special tribute to your pet's life, Dr. Pat can assist you with ideas and methods that fit into your belief system.

Dr. Pat has already begun answering questions, and you will find her first post on the blog shortly. We both hope you will enjoy her natural approach, as well as her characteristic humor in handling client questions. Do you have a question for Dr. Pat about your dog's health or well-being? Now is the time to get your letter in before the rush. You can write to Dr. Pat at LetsAdoptaDogPark@gmail.com, and place "ASK THE VET" in the subject line.

As in the past, our ASK THE VET column will frequently feature a reader's dog photo, so here's another opportunity for your Rover to shine. Send his picture to us at LetsAdoptaDogPark@gmail.com, including his name, and we'll do our best to feature him. Remember, this is a dog-only picture--no people!

One more piece of news and I'll be off. Just in case you've missed it, Xena, Tanner and Oliver have decided to get with the program too; they have begun their own blog! Entitled 5 Minutes for Fido, the dogs' blog contains short tips and commentary, shared in the  dog's own voices. Yup; you heard that right. You'll be getting the straight scoop right from the pups' mouth.

They are off to a good start with a few tips on subjects like dog park visits, exercising on a rainy day, doggie play dates, and camping with your pups. If you enjoy their blog, be sure to click on the COMMENT link and let them know. They would love to hear your thoughts! Before you forget, go ahead and visit 5 Minutes for Fido right now by clicking the link. You'll be sure to get a good laugh at Tanner, who won the toss for the 'cover dog' photo:

Happy tails,

Carrie Boyko
