My Writing...What's in it

for My Dog Loving Readers?

John Grisham, best known for his legal thrillers, spoke at my son's recent college graduation. I hadn't anticipated he would speak to the art of writing, but rather expected to hear advice of the usual commencement variety--life and the future for a college graduate. He included few bits of wisdom, and avidly stated that he is not a fan of such things.

To my delight, he derailed from that topic and addressed three of his top tips for writers. No, don't worry; I'm not planning any novels. Yet I did get something from his comments. Most notably, Grisham spoke about 'finding your voice', a topic found in many a blogging guidebook. I began to see my dogs as the characters in an ongoing saga of dog training, bonding, living and loving. My voice is that of the dog lover in me, the one which deeply desires to share what she has learned with those of you who wish to listen. Are you listening?

What would you like to see more of in this blog? As I wrote in my very first post back in February, 2009, "So Many Dog Topics...Where Should I Begin", there is an infinite amount of helpful and entertaining dog information to share. My goal is to help you and your dog coexist happily and healthfully, while also offering the occasional entertainment of dog videos and comic-relief pieces offered by my own spirited threesome here at home. I have enjoyed many letters and ongoing email relationships with my readers--some from across the globe.
