Posted: 22 Jul 2009 09:59 PM PDT G'day Dog Lovers, I'm sure you've all heard the story about American NFL star Michael Vick (if you haven't, check out this link - http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,289729,00.html) This guy is a convicted dog fighter who has served 23 months in prison but was recently released. The debate raging in the US at the moment surrounds the question of whether or not he should be given a second chance. There's talk of him joining different teams all over the country, returning to the fame and expensive pay cheques of the NFL. But there's plenty of people who don't think this scumbag deserves a second chance - and I am one of them. This is, after all, the same man who electrocuted and beat dogs to death after they lost a fight. The idea that he may be able to return to a life of fame, fortune and a lavish lifestyle (not to mention be put in a position where he is a role model for youngsters) simply disgusts me. Let's hope he is not allowed back into the NFL. What do you think? Should Michael Vick be given a second chance? |
