| Posted: 22 Dec 2009 04:05 AM PST Who doesn't like a good cup of Nog...by the Holiday tree, roaring fire, inside with our favorite humans, keeping warm from the cold and snow! Even us pups can enjoy a good cup of Nog, here's our favorite recipe for Green Dog Egg Nog!
Blend all ingredients and serve in stainless steel bowls with a sprinkling of ground flax seed, and top with a nice banana slice. Be sure and refrigerate unused portions. It's a great refreshing treat after a day of playing in the snow! |
| Giving back this Holiday season! Posted: 21 Dec 2009 05:03 AM PST See that little shelter below? That's where I was staying at the Southside Animal Shelter when I first met my Mum the day she adopted me. I was there with my biological Mum, and my four brothers and sisters. My sisters were adopted first, then Mum saw the pic below of me and my brother on Petfinder.com, and she immediately jumped in the car and drove the hour to the shelter and adopted me on the spot. Throughout the year, we gather up any profits we make through our blogs and websites, and then donate 10% of those profits to a no-kill rescue or shelter. This year, we've taken that a step further. As part of Johann's Second Annual Howling Howliday Giveaway, we decided to provide a way for those that have supported us throughout the year to donate to the very same shelter that gave me my second chance - the Southside Animal Shelter. We set a goal of $500 to help the Southside Animal Shelter, and have only reached a little over 25% of our goal so far. Can you help? Just a few $$ would go a long way in helping this shelter rescue and find loving, furever homes for some pawsome pups - just like they did for me. If you can spare a few...click on the donate button below. I know that the pups at the Southside Animal Shelter will be forever grateful!
If you'd like to donate through PayPal directly to Southside, click here for their donation page...and make sure you tell 'em Johann sent ya :) |

| Santa Claus is comin' to town... Posted: 21 Dec 2009 06:33 AM PST We were informed by our good friends, Katie & Kelly, that we are supposed to write a letter to Santa asking for toys and then he leaves them under our tree on Christmas. Mrs. Elizabeth told us that we have to be reallllllly good this week and we will for sure get some goodies! Here is our letter to Santa. It's just our rough draft, we would love to hear about any new toys that we may have not heard of before. Dear Santa Paws, We have been super good this year. Well, except for a couple times, but we can explain all of that later. We definitely promise to be super good next year. This year could be like a "pay it forward" year. Just in case you are feeling generous, we are going to go ahead and leave some requests. First off, we would really love some new food bowls. It gets really boring looking at the same ol' plastic bowls all the time. We would also like some new toys- we heard about some that have treats inside of them and also some that make noise. Both sound rather enjoyable. Also, mom & dad never buy us any toys that we can destroy (like ropes or anything with fabric). We would really like to have some destroy-able toys. Also, some big treats would be great. We prefer the beef flavored, but we'll let you decide what you think is best. New harnesses and leashes. We are so last season with the ones we have now. An update would be great. Mom & dad always get us the step-in kind so we can't pull as much, but we promise not to pull if you get us something more stylish. And last, but not least, we would really like to unlimited access to outside. We love it out there but for some reason, we can't go out whenever we want. (that's where those ugly harnesses come in) With mucho love, Doby & Lola P.S. from Lola- Doby has been much worse than me. If you want to bring more pink toys than blue toys, that would be ok. |

DogQuality: Orthopedic Dog Bed Test Results |
| Orthopedic Dog Bed Test Results Posted: 19 Dec 2009 07:30 PM PST We did this video as a follow up to our original video product review to discuss the results of our two week long test. This orthopedic dog bed is veterinarian recommended for relief from arthritis and hip displasia, two common conditions faced by older dogs. We put this dog bed through this test to determine if we would be able to see any improvement in Mackenzie’s overall condition when he wakes from naps. Mackenzie, my 13 year old pug, is challenged by arthritis, which is most apparent when he wakes from extended sleep in his bed. Find out how this dog bed performed during this testing period and whether or not there was any improvement in Mackenzie’s post-nap condition. |
